Start with the symptom

A load that will not drain, spin or dry needs an assessment of the machine and its connected systems.

What are you noticing?

  • Water left in the washer after a cycle
  • Drum not spinning or unusually heavy movement
  • Dryer tumbling without heat
  • Long drying, new noise or an overheating concern

Separate washing, draining and spinning

A washer can fill and agitate yet stop before a successful drain or spin. Record the stage, water level and complete error message. A locked door can be part of the appliance protection system. Do not force it or bypass a latch. Recent moving, a changed load and supply or drain work are useful context for the provider.

For a dryer, describe heat and airflow

Tell the provider whether the dryer is gas, electric or a ventless heat-pump model. Explain whether the drum turns, whether any warmth is present and whether every load is affected. The exhaust route, accessible lint care and appliance operation may need separate assessment. A new fuse is not a substitute for investigating an overheating cause.

Plan for the installation

A stacked pair, closet installation or upper-floor laundry space may need additional handling or building access. Confirm who moves the equipment, checks connections and reinstates anything disconnected. Stop using a smoking, burning-smelling or severely shaking machine, and keep clear of leaks near energized equipment.

Ask what is included

The written scope should identify the actual provider, diagnosis, proposed part and labor. Confirm the diagnostic charge, any fee credit, access work, exclusions and the conditions for additional approval. Ask what operating or safety check will verify the agreed work. Prime does not promise a stocked part, same-day attendance or a particular repair warranty.

Find the city behind the enquiry

Browse a city guide, then confirm actual provider coverage.
Keep the enquiry safe. Do not open electrical or refrigerant systems, force locked components or bypass protection devices. Stop use for smoke, overheating, arcing or leaks near electrical parts. For a gas odor, leave and contact the gas utility or emergency services from safety.
