Start with the symptom
No cubes, leaking fill water or a bin that will not harvest. Record which part of the ice-making sequence still happens.
What are you noticing?
- Ice production has stopped
- Cubes form but do not drop
- Water leaks into the ice bin
- Clumping or partially melted ice
Fill, freeze and harvest are different steps
Tell the provider whether water enters, cubes form and ice reaches the bin. Mention a recent filter replacement and whether the water dispenser still operates. Ice production depends on both temperature and the correct operating sequence; a stopped ice maker does not automatically mean the complete assembly must be replaced.
Keep observations safe and accessible
Do not force the harvest mechanism, defeat a bin sensor or reach into powered moving parts. Describe visible ice, leakage and display messages. Different refrigerator and standalone ice-maker models have different instructions, so the full model number matters.
Ask for the complete scope
Clarify whether work involves the ice maker, refrigerator cooling or a separate supply connection. Confirm parts, labor, access, leak checks and any warranty directly with the actual provider.
Ask what is included
The written scope should identify the actual provider, diagnosis, proposed part and labor. Confirm the diagnostic charge, any fee credit, access work, exclusions and the conditions for additional approval. Ask what operating or safety check will verify the agreed work. Prime does not promise a stocked part, same-day attendance or a particular repair warranty.
