Start with the symptom

No heat, uneven baking or a burner that behaves differently. Make a note of the cooking mode and fuel type.

What are you noticing?

  • Oven not reaching the selected temperature
  • Broil works but bake does not
  • One cooking zone will not heat
  • Clicking ignition or an unresponsive display

Name the cooking mode that changed

An oven can behave differently in bake, broil, convection and self-clean modes. Explain which functions still work and whether the concern began after an interruption or a high-heat cycle. Temperature cycling, heat production, controls and airflow are separate parts of the assessment. One thermometer reading cannot establish the whole cooking pattern.

Fuel type changes the service boundary

State whether the appliance is gas, electric or induction. A gas odor calls for leaving the area and contacting the gas utility or emergency services from a safe place. Do not keep trying ignition or investigate fittings. Avoid opening electrical covers, bypassing protection devices or changing a regulator as a homeowner test.

Consider the cabinet and connections

A freestanding range and a double wall oven have different removal requirements. Tell the provider about an appliance installed below a separate cooktop, a tight opening or custom cabinetry. Confirm who handles lifting, reconnection and checking the affected cooking functions after repair.

Ask what is included

The written scope should identify the actual provider, diagnosis, proposed part and labor. Confirm the diagnostic charge, any fee credit, access work, exclusions and the conditions for additional approval. Ask what operating or safety check will verify the agreed work. Prime does not promise a stocked part, same-day attendance or a particular repair warranty.

Find the city behind the enquiry

Browse a city guide, then confirm actual provider coverage.
Keep the enquiry safe. Do not open electrical or refrigerant systems, force locked components or bypass protection devices. Stop use for smoke, overheating, arcing or leaks near electrical parts. For a gas odor, leave and contact the gas utility or emergency services from safety.
